With Many Thanks for All You’ve Helped Accomplish

Over the past year many of you contributed generously, helping to raise over $195,000 towards the Library’s Furniture & Fixture Campaign. Of this amount, approximately $45,000 is a direct result of the 170 individual donors who responded to last June’s $50 per household community appeal. The balance of the funds were awarded to the Library through various grants.

Your support is truly appreciated, and we would like to share some of the enhanced surroundings you are now able to enjoy because of your significant participation in our campaign.

Other enhancements now ready for your enjoyment:

• The new Customer Service Desk
• Self Check Outs
• Restoration of antique book shelves in Local History
• Area rugs and window treatments in keeping with the original style and design of the historic Carnegie Room, and
• Within the next several months you will see modular seating and tables in the Adult Reference Library.

The Nyack Library has doubled in size and seen more than a 10% increase in attendance over last year. Before our expansion and renovation were complete, the Library played host to 830 Adult, Teen and Children’s programs. This number will certainly rise with the increased demand and new capabilities of our expanded Library.

We are delighted that so many continue to find the Library a cornerstone of our community. As such, we hope we can continue to count on you in future years as we become further established in our new, spacious environment and provide more of what you want, need and enjoy.
